Terms of Service

Gyojic is a personalised cultural discovery and lifestyle service.

Gyojic may recommend, curate or help arrange things such as places, restaurants, events, culture, films, books, music, activities, travel ideas and other experiences.

Some Gyojic features may combine several recommendations into editorial experiences such as Today’s Edit or Scenes.

Recommendations are personalised suggestions, not guarantees.

You must be at least 16 to create and use a Gyojic account.

You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep your login credentials secure.

You are responsible for activity carried out through your account unless caused by circumstances outside your reasonable control.

Gyojic uses information you provide and your interactions with the service to personalise your experience.

You may also choose to connect third-party services to provide additional preference signals.

Connecting those services is optional.

Gyojic’s interpretation of your taste is an evolving estimate. It may sometimes get things wrong, and recommendations should not be treated as factual statements about your identity or preferences.

Gyojic may link to or display information about third-party websites, media, restaurants, venues, events, products and services.

Unless explicitly stated otherwise, Gyojic does not own, operate or control those third parties.

Availability, prices, opening hours, event details, menus, ratings and other third-party information can change.

You should verify important details with the relevant provider before travelling, booking, purchasing or relying on them.

Any agreement you enter into with a third party is between you and that third party, subject to their own terms.

You may choose to authorise Gyojic to connect to supported third-party services.

Your use of those third-party services remains subject to their own terms and policies.

You may revoke or disconnect an integration through Gyojic where that functionality is available, and you may also be able to revoke Gyojic directly through the relevant third-party service.

Gyojic may suspend or change an integration if a provider changes its API, terms, permissions or availability.

Gyojic is designed to inspire and assist rather than direct your decisions.

You remain responsible for deciding whether a recommendation, activity, venue, journey, food, event or experience is appropriate for you.

You should exercise ordinary judgement and take into account relevant factors such as safety, accessibility, allergies, health requirements, travel conditions, cost and local rules.

If you provide text, preferences, feedback or other material to Gyojic, you retain ownership of material you own.

You give Gyojic permission to process that material as necessary to provide, personalise, secure and improve the service in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

If you send feedback or suggestions about Gyojic, we may use those suggestions to improve the service without an obligation to compensate you.

The Gyojic name, branding, interface, original design, original editorial material, software and other content created by Gyojic are owned by or licensed to Gyojic and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

Third-party articles, films, podcasts, images, music and other external works remain the property of their respective owners.

A link or recommendation does not transfer ownership of third-party content to Gyojic.

You may use Gyojic for personal, non-commercial purposes unless we expressly agree otherwise.

You may not copy, scrape, reverse engineer, resell, reproduce or commercially exploit substantial parts of Gyojic except where law permits or we have given permission.

You must not use Gyojic to break the law; interfere with or damage the service; attempt unauthorised access to accounts, systems or data; distribute malware or malicious code; abuse or circumvent access controls; impersonate another person; or use automated systems to scrape or extract substantial amounts of Gyojic content without permission.

Gyojic is evolving.

Features may be added, changed, suspended or removed, including integrations with external services.

We do not guarantee that every feature will always be available or that every recommendation will remain current.

We may perform maintenance or restrict access where reasonably necessary for security, technical or legal reasons.

You may stop using Gyojic at any time.

Where account deletion is available, you may request deletion through the service or by contacting us.

We may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary if you materially breach these Terms, misuse Gyojic, create security risks, or where we are legally required to do so.

Where appropriate, we will provide reasonable notice.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or rights you have under applicable consumer law.

Gyojic is provided with reasonable care and skill, but recommendations are inherently subjective and may not always suit you.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for losses caused by third-party services, venues, content or providers that we do not control, or for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when you began using the service.

If you use Gyojic as a consumer, nothing in these Terms affects your statutory consumer rights.

Our handling of personal information is described in the Gyojic Privacy Policy, available at https://passport.gyojic.com/privacy.

We may update these Terms as Gyojic develops.

If changes materially affect your rights or obligations, we will provide reasonable notice where appropriate.

Continuing to use Gyojic after updated Terms become effective means the updated Terms will apply, subject to rights provided by applicable law.

If you are a consumer resident in the United Kingdom, these Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the part of the UK where you live, and you may bring proceedings in the courts available to you under applicable consumer law.

For other users, these Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to mandatory protections provided by the laws of your country of residence.
